Maybe this was done so HP could show off their double-sided printing technology or, maybe it was just one of those dumb oversights.

Click Print to print your document with the chosen settings.Most of the newer HP printers are programmed to print on both sides of the paper as the default.

By choosing Short-edged binding, the document will print double-sided but the second page will appear as if you are reading from a legal tablet.

This is the standard option for double-sided printing.

By choosing Long-edged binding, the document will print double-sided and the second page will be oriented as if you were reading a book.

This is the default option on all public Mac computers.

By choosing Off, the document will print single-sided.

The single and double-sided options are under Two-Sided.

Select the printer you would like to print from and then select Layout from the third dropdown box (under Presets).

Click File then Print in the application you want to print from.

The next time you log on, the settings will revert back to the defaults. If you change the settings, they will only be changed for that program and that computing session.

Click OK when you are done, and click OK again to print the file with your chosen settings.

This is useful for rough drafts of large projects, like theses.

You can save even more paper by choosing to print 2 pages per sheet.
